ADM Londis signs logistics agreement with Norbert Dentressangle

LBR Staff Writer Published 16 July 2012

Ireland-based grocery retail group ADM Londis has entered into a €20m contract with logistics provider Norbert Dentressangle, pursuant to which the latter will deliver centralised chilled distribution of products to ADM's network of 250 stores throughout Ireland.

As part of the four-year contract, Norbert will deliver over 15 million cases of products per annum through two warehouse locations, which include the existing facility at Londis Group Support Office in Johnstown in Kildare and the new centralised chill facility at Swords in North County Dublin.

Norbert Dentressangle has opened the Swords facility, which incorporates over 780 product SKUs that can remove on average 40 individual supplier deliveries per week from the shop floor, as part of the new agreement, reports Analytiqa.

A fleet of 50 trucks will be used to distribute products during the contract period, with 60 employees involved in the process across the two sites.

As per the agreement, chilled orders from Londis retailers can be placed directly with ADM Londis Group Support office.

The agreement is expected to offer Londis retailers heightened efficiencies, consistent supply, a finely tuned consumer offering and higher sales and margin.
