CJ Logistics to acquire majority stake in DSC Logistics

South Korea-based CJ Logistics has agreed to purchase a majority stake in US-based logistics and supply chain management firm DSC Logistics.

DSC Logistics provides advanced supply chain solutions for Fortune 500 and other major companies.

The company serves as a lead logistics partner (LLP), third-party logistics (3PL) provider and supply chain consultant for its customers.

DSC Logistics offers integrated supply chain solutions, including transportation management solutions, and supply chain packaging solutions.

DSC’s supply chain packaging solutions comprised of in-network co-packing, production lines, as well as different repacking capabilities and specialized packaging services.

The company also provides advanced technology solutions, business process integration solutions, supply chain consulting services and omnichannel services.

DSC Logistics offers various consulting services with expertise in supply chain analytics, network modeling, engineering, technology and operations.

In addition, the company provides flexible fulfillment and distribution solutions, which support manufacturers and retailers in delivering goods across multiple channels.

Subject to regulatory and other customary approvals, the deal is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.

DSC Logistics CEO Ann Drake said: “CJ shares our passion for dynamic supply chain leadership and will provide a global platform for DSC, while DSC will provide a platform of expertise, capabilities and leadership in the US.”

As per the terms of the deal, Ann Drake will serve as chair of the DSC advisory board and retain minority ownership in the firm.

CJ Logistics president Keun Tae Park said: “We look forward to combining our technical capabilities and network to create synergies and to become a market leader in US logistics, especially in the W&D (warehousing and distribution) space.”

CJ Logistics was established in 1930, and joined CJ Group in 2011. The firm offers air and sea forwarding, shipping, contract logistics, parcel and express delivery, and supply chain consulting services to its customers.
