DHL to develop European distribution centers for Eaton's electrical business

Published 27 September 2017

DHL Supply Chain has agreed to develop three distribution centers for global power management company Eaton in Europe.

As part of a long-term agreement, DHL will create and manage distribution centers for Eaton’s electrical business in Europe.

DHL will unite Eaton's European major distribution center capabilities into three integrated primary distribution centers.

These facilities will be situated in Germany, in the UK and in the Czech Republic, where the present DHL managed distribution center will be expanded.

Germany’s new distribution center will be developed at Rheinbach to provide services for Eaton's customers in Western Europe.

Expected to be operational in 2018, the facility will be used to store and distribute various electric components such as switch cabinets, fuses and control devices in the new warehouse.

DHL Supply Chain Mainland Europe, Middle East and Africa CEO Oscar de Bok said: "Eaton has been a valued partner for years and we are delighted to further intensify our collaboration.

“Based on DHL Supply Chain's broad expertise in devising integrated supply chain solutions, we developed the Rheinbach concept for a full warehouse consolidation, starting with planning, construction, fit out and full automation to the initial setup and operation.”

Eaton EMEA supply chain and operational excellence vice president Klaus Gaeb said: "DHL is very experienced in warehousing and distribution as well as supply chain solutions and we can help with their environmental focus and drive energy efficiency by applying Eaton's power management technologies to their facilities.”
