DHL to invest over EUR70m to expand regional Asian footprint

DHL Supply Chain has agreed to invest over €70m for expanding its footprint in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar by 2020.

Last month, DHL Supply Chain secured an operational business license in Myanmar. the company said it will now focus on extending its services in Cambodia.

The firm will offer 5000 job opportunities by constructing new facilities, expanding its fleet of trucks, and investing in new technology in the coming three years.

The cross-sector growth of the firm will be aided by the supply chain solutions and service innovation, which will also enhance the customer service in Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar.

DHL will also install automation and robotics, unmanned vehicles, vision picking, transport control tower and telematics in its warehouses and transport operations.

Recently DHL opened a new facility in Bangkok. With a workforce of over 10000 people, the firm operates 70 facilities covering an area of 650,000m2.
