Gefco UK has opened a new logistics solutions centre in South Liverpool, in a bid to expand its operations in the region.

The 129,000ft² facility will offer storage and sequencing operations for tier one suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the region.

In November 2016, the company announced plans to develop new logistics solutions centre in South Liverpool located in the North–West of England.

The new £10m facility provides logistics and supply chain solutions, as well as helps optimize supply chains for the firm’s customers.

According to the company, the new facility is the next step in the development of a blueprint for the firm’s supply chain excellence program that will be rolled out in other strategic locations across the globe.

Gefco UK managing director Zsolt Vecsera said:“The opening of this facility represents a major milestone in the growth of our automotive sequencing capabilities and the value added services we can provide to our customers.

“Over the past year we’ve seen excellent progress both domestically and for the wider GEFCO group, in part due to our enhanced investment policy.

“The new centre will enable us to future-proof both the business for our customers’ growing demands and future requirements and we are delighted to create new jobs and strengthen manufacturing resources in the region”.

Gefco UK provides transport and logistics solutions to the companies in different industries.

The firm’s services include core freight, integrated logistics, strategic-xpert, one time solutions, Geo gateways and industry solutions.
