Icon Industrial to develop £100m warehouse and logistics project at Manchester Airport

LBR Staff Writer Published 09 February 2018

Icon Industrial, a joint venture of Stoford Developments and TPG Real Estate, has announced a £100m warehouse and logistics development project at Manchester Airport.

With outline planning consent for one million ft², the Icon Manchester Airport is a build to suit logistics/warehouse development project that can deliver units from 100,000ft² to 700,000ft² on the 45-acre site.

The site offers better connectivity to Junction 6 of the M56 motorway, in addition to Manchester Airport and the Greater Manchester region. It is also near to the air and rail connections of the World Freight Terminal.

The area is known as North West logistics site, which includes major occupiers such as Amazon, Fedex, UPS and DHL.

Situated within the Manchester Enterprise Zone, the site provides occupiers with fast track delivery through a streamlined planning process and enhanced capital allowances.

Stoford Developments joint managing director Dan Gallagher said: “This project marks the exciting first development for the joint venture and presents potential occupiers with an excellent opportunity to have a unit built to their specific requirements in a key strategic location at the very heart of the Northern Powerhouse.”

“The connectivity this site offers future occupiers makes it a hugely significant site as an important logistics hub for South Manchester and the North West.”

TPG Real Estate and Stoford Developments are planning to develop Icon Industrial into a logistics platform through purchasing and developing valuable sites in the UK. It will renovate existing buildings in major prime logistics locations.
