Milaha has opened a phase I of the 400,000m² logistics complex in Qatar, which will be used for cold chain solutions.

As part of the phase I of Milaha Logistics City, Milaha developed 35,000m² warehousing facility to be used for temperature-controlled cargo.

The new cold chain logistics facility will fulfill the needs of customers in the food industry, pharmaceutical and other fast-moving consumer good (FMCG) sectors.

Milaha has divided the facility into a frozen storage area, chilled storage area and temperature-controlled storage area ranging between -22° Celsius and +22° Celsius temperatures.

Featuring an advanced and environmentally friendly technology, the new logistics facility is claimed to be one of the highest in Qatar with 22m that allows more storage per sqm.

The new facility is also included with other specialized warehousing options to provide advanced supply chain solutions for the company’s customers.

Milaha Capital, a real estate arm Milaha, has managed the construction of the project

Milaha president and CEO Abdulrahman Essa Al-Mannai said: “Milaha Logistics City is a significant investment on our part in Qatar’s supply chain infrastructure and, in particular, cold chain capabilities, and we expect it to be a key enabler for logistics growth in Qatar.

“We want to give our clients more sophisticated options to access the local market. This new service offering will further strengthen Qatar’s position as a leading maritime and logistics hub as well as our own position as a national and regional supply chain partner.”

Milaha logistics vice president Mazen Kloub said: “We are already seeing a tremendous response to the new facility, which is ideally located on the orbital road with close proximity to Qatar’s main airport and commercial seaport, and offers quick, easy access to Doha and beyond.”

Milaha is a Qatari public shareholding company, which provides integrated transport and supply chain solutions to the customers.
