Pall-Ex launches operations in Poland

LBR Staff Writer Published 05 December 2017

UK-based palletised freight network Pall-Ex has launched its operations in Poland, as part of its expansion plans in Europe.

With the launching of Polish network, Pall-Ex now operates eight first and last mile networks across Europe.

Pall-Ex has selected PKS Oliwa Gdansk as a partner, which is operating in Poland since last 50 years with more than 230 employees.

Benelux-based logistics business Axell Logistics will also support Pall-Ex to expand business activities in the region.

The expansion will also help Pall-Ex to advance the less than truckload (LTL) sector across the continent, in addition to expanding the hub-and-spoke operational model within Poland.

Earlier this year, Pall-Ex also launched its operations in Bulgaria, while plans to complete expansion through collaborating with other European partners by the end of this year.

PKS Gdansk-Oliwa business development director Marta Slodnik said: “Over the years PKS Gdansk-Oliwa has been seen as a domestic and European full load transport operator in the market. Watching the market change, we were searching out for the possibility to grow into the expanding LTL sector and complete our service portfolio.”

Axell Group CEO Marc Fremouw said: “Pall-Ex offers a solution based on cooperation, quality and flexibility that fits our way of working. Working together with the other shareholders and all the members towards one common service is very exciting.”

In June, Pall-Ex opened a northern hub in Warrington, UK to serve 19 members in the north of England and Scotland.

The new plant, which has replaced Carlisle facility, is being operated by Pall-Ex member Currie European.
