RSL deploys inVia’s autonomous warehouse robotics technology at Las Vegas facility

LBR Staff Writer Published 10 May 2018

Rakuten Super Logistics (RSL) has deployed inVia Robotics’ autonomous warehouse robotics technology at its facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.

The company intends to increase its e-commerce fulfillment and warehouse productivity by more than 300% through using inVia Picker robots and cloud-based robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) management system.

inVia's patented autonomous mobile Picker robots will be used in a range of warehouse operations, including picking, packing, goods replenishment and conducting cycle count.

The robots will also help to reduce shrinkage and improve accuracy by decreasing mis-shipments.

RSL has completed initial pilot deployment of warehouse robotics technology at the starting of this month.

RSL CEO Michael Manzione said: "For RSL and our broad array of clients, inVia Robotics presents an exciting opportunity to scale demand, manage costs and improve inventory accuracy utilizing a RaaS model.

"Our partnership with inVia is indicative of our company's commitment to providing clients with state-of-the-art technology designed to maximize efficiency and minimize costs."

inVia Robotics founder and CEO Lior Elazary said: "inVia's technology and accessible RaaS platform will help the company elevate its e-commerce solutions, streamline fulfillment and continue to scale its operations to meet a growing customer demand."

inVia Picker robots can retrieve SKU's stored in totes, bins or boxes for delivery to pick/pack stations.

The robots will retrieve items directly from the shelf and deliver to pack stations or directly to shipping. SKU's that cannot be directly picked are combined with goods to person or person to goods for better collaborative robot solution.

inVia's goods-to-person-fulfillment, which is a subscription-based model, will help to increase efficiencies across multiple operating cost layers within RSL's facilities.

inVia Robotics provides next generation robotics warehouse automation solutions for e-commerce fulfillment centers.

The company supports e-commerce companies to enhance their fulfillment and streamline supply chain processes.

Since 2001, RSL has been providing e-commerce order fulfillment solutions to the customers in the US.
