XPO Logistics wins warehousing contract from UK’s BrewDog

Published 11 July 2017

Transport and logistics solutions provider XPO Logistics has secured a warehousing contract from UK-based brewery, BrewDog.

Under the deal, XPO will offer advanced temperature-controlled warehousing services for BrewDog's stockholding of craft beer.

To support the contract, the company will use its 125,000ft² multi-user facility located in Mossend of Scotland.

XPO has launched a system interface between its enterprise software and BrewDog to improve stock visibility of kegs, cans, bottles and coasters, order processing speed and accuracy

BrewDog customer service and logistics manager Stephen McCrindle said: "The team is bringing freshly filled bottles, cans and kegs from our production site to the facility in Mossend, where each batch is carefully chilled to a steady 8ºC and then assembled for onward distribution to BrewDog customers and our own chain of over 50 pubs across Europe.”

XPO Logistics business unit director Peter Fuller said: “We're providing BrewDog with the sophisticated storage and supply chain facilities that a fast-growing company of this size needs."

Established in 2008, the Aberdeen-based BrewDog distributes its beer to the customers in around 55 countries across the globe.

In June, the company also received a renewed contract from the crop protection specialist Adama Agricultural Solutions UK.

Under the deal, XPO Logistics will offer logistics and transportation solutions for Adama from its 200,000 ft² facility in Derbyshire.

Located at Amber Park in South Normanton, the facility features 21,000 pallet locations, which will be used to deliver around 200 products to 232 delivery points across the UK through using its fleet.
